Ka'eke'eke - Hawaiian stomping posts made from bamboo. Used as an accompaniment for hula as well as with traditional chants. Notice how the tapa cloth covers the end of the bamboo nodes which protect the instrument during performances. Ka'eke'eke can be performed either in a seated position or standing such as with hula ka'eke'eke where the dancer moves their body back and forth instead of the usual hula steps.
